HUNZA MARATHON
Z Adventures in a joint collaboration with Pakistan Youth Outreach presents the first official marathon in Northern Pakistan. The event will take place on Saturday 9 July 2016 in Karimabad, Hunza.
ABOUT HUNZA
Hunza is a mountainous valley in the Gilgit–Baltistan region and is situated in the extreme northern part of Pakistan. Karakoram Highway crosses Hunza, connecting Pakistan to China via the Khunjerab Pass. The literacy rate of the Hunza valley is believed to be more than 95%. Virtually every child is educated up to at least high school level. The lifestyle of people of Hunza is very simple and they are considered to be very warm and welcoming. Several high peaks rise above 6,000 metres (20,000 ft) over the Hunza valley. The valley provides views of several tall mountains, including Rakaposhi 7,788 metres (25,551 ft), Ultar Sar 7,388 metres (24,239 ft) and Bojahagur Duanasir II 7,329 metres (24,045 ft). The valley is popularly believed to be the inspiration for the mythical valley of Shangri-la in James Hilton's 1933 novel Lost Horizon.

Custom designed medal for all Marathon & Half Marathon finishers.
5K - Medals for the Top 3 Male / Female in the Open category and Top 3 Male / Female in Under 18 category.
Certificates for all other 5K finishers.
COURSE
All events will be run on a short out and back course. Map will be uploaded soon.

July 07 - Fly from Islamabad to Gilgit and onward 3 hour journey in a private coach to Hunza. Overnight in Hunza.
July 08 - Sightseeing in Hunza visiting Baltit Fort and other famous attractions.
July 09 - Hunza Marathon.
July 10 - Road trip to Khunjerab Pass (Pakistan - China border, the highest paved international border crossing in the world).
July 10 - Friendship run at 15,397ft (4,693m) above sea level. Return to Gilgit and overnight in Serena Hotel.
July 11 - Fly back to Islamabad.
COST: Rs. 50,000 per person on a twin sharing basis. The cost includes return air fare from Islamabad to Gilgit, 4 nights in a 4* hotel, transfers, visit to all the attractions in a private coach or SUV, park fees, breakfast every morning, one lunch and one dinner.

July 12 - Full day excursion to Deosai Plains (2nd highest plains in the world) and overnight in Shigar Fort.
July 13 - Sightseeing around Skardu and overnight in Shangrila Hotel.
July 14 - Fly from Skardu to Islamabad.
